B.Sprouts & Cabbage caterpillar Help

Hi Guys,

I need help!

Any organic solutions for getting rid of them which does not involve me touching them??

I have an infestation on my B.Sprouts at the moment and my cabbages which i put in a week ago are looking vunerable so i am going to add fleese to this bed.

But if i cover the bed in fleese will this still let the light and water in???

Sorry - put another thing on Whites here this am. Should have combined it.

1. No spray is effective unless you actually hit the beasts. That mostly means turning every leaf upside down & spraying.  So, if you've got that far, & have gloves on, just brush them off.
I've just done 4 rows this am. No gloves!!

2. Yes - but fleece is much less permeable than mesh. It takes a lot of rain to get through  in useful quantity.

3. It's either brush or cover - there's probably enough moisture in the soil to see you through?

Not much help at this exact moment for you but for future, you can always try the method on TV: Rhubarb leaves fermented in water for a couple of weeks then spray the plants. Apparently it is a good deterrant for these pests.

Oh, for some Rhubarb.

And even then, like all 'nice' sprays, it's both sides of every leaf!!
