I've read a fair amount amout edible flowers but I don't recall lilies being mentioned.  If I was you I'd just enjoy looking at them.   :)

Manic. I do like that lily. I only have a few and this year for first time I found the dreaded beetle. I think I sqished all of them.  I do enjoy looking at members gardens, must admit flowers are of more interest to me than veg. Thanks Manic.

thanks, georgie..maybe one day  ;D
there are that many in the bucket I'll have to split them this year  :)

Georgie

I repot my lilies every other year.  In the second year I simply top dress in spring.  They don't seem to mind a bit of crowding.

I put 5 in the bucket, georgie, this year there's twice as many flowering stems, will they still be okay next year if I top dress them,?
it's no good putting them straight in the ground, the soil is poor due to lots of fruit trees  :)

Georgie

Hmmm... I think more than five stems to a bucket is pushing it unless they are a dwarf variety.  I'd go with your original plan and split them if you have the room.
