Salsify

I am growing Salsify for the first time this year, it seems to be growing quite well at the moment but I was wondering how I will know when it is ready to pull, is it a veg that matures in the Autumn like Parsnips ?

I pull mine all year round as once you have it, unless you get every last piece of root out, you keep getting it!  I did dig mine originally in the autumn as the salads started to slow up and the slow cooker came into use again.
