My sisters on the PTA at her sons school and yesterday was their summer fete.  OMG did it ever rain!  However, 600 paying adults passed through the gates, most with herds of kids behind them.  In between the downpours the cheerleaders cheered, the diabloers diabloed and the dancers danced.  Most of the tombollas and prize giving games run out of prizes towards the end and the BBQ and beer tent were packed even though we were eating our burgers and supping from our bottles under brollies.  Everyone had a smile on their faces and plenty of money seemed to be changing hands.  I am still waiting to hear from her as to how much they made.  I had a bit of a doodar....a young girl elbowed me in my hernia wound which did more than brought tears to my eyes.  Fortunately I had my painkillers and mum, sis and my love dealt with the kids whilst I composed myself.  Very sore still, but mum checked the wound and it is all healing nicely.  Just one of those things, it wasn't malicious, it was the excitiment of having a tattoo!

Yesterday was a day where us damp UK dwellers showed that a drop of rain wasn't going to bother us.  Had a lovely day!  ;D ;D

Any of your schools having their summer fetes soon?
