How to kill the weeds??

I got a new plot in October and have put main crop & 2nd early potatoes in half of it but the weeds are taking over. I was thinking of maybe using a weed killer after the spuds what can anyone recommend one its a big plot. I want to use the plot in spring next year.

Mine was weedy last year and by the time you dig your spuds out the weeds get dug out anyway.  ;D ;D ;D

true, ck..the soil's in much better condition when the spuds are up, as well  :)
