There's a flood warning and severe weather warning for Lincolnshire, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Suffolk and Northants for the next 2 days!

Looks like I won't need to get my neighbour to water while I'm away in Kent overnight  ;D

Kathi

Just as i typed that, sat on the veranda in this heat - it started to hail!?!

[quote next week we will be complaining about the lack of rain!!

I live in a marsh area with a very high water table, only dig down a few inches to find moist earth (and that's in August)  :)

so consiquently I never,  or should I say, I rarely do a rain dance ;)
Life is to short !!!

having had a good cry watching a film i recorded last week 'House of sand and Fog"

I think i will make an attempt to make it up to the allotment again.

Going to get the boat out!  :D

Robert_Brenchley

I've spent the day at a primary school where several classrooms have been flooded with sewage. No idea whether the allotment is flooded as I'm totally bogged down with exam marking.

My Moderation meeting is on Sunday... so that's me out of circulation for the month. It is so annoying being able to see the lottie ....
:-\

Curryandchips

Update - got wet going home, but not as soaked as anticipated. The plot has been, er ... 'rearranged ...' large tubs of leek seedlings have floated around, all the pots in the greenhouse upturned, perhaps not as bad as my imagination had conjured up. Worst bit is the ground is still flooded, and will not bear weight ...

Can't see myself doing any weeding this weekend ...  :D

Derek :)
The impossible is just a journey away ...

dear God, I'd like the rain to be turned off now please  :-*

Emagggie

Sorry for all you soggy folk.......torrential rain yesterday here in the driest part of England for a while and today has been beautiful. No doubt we'll get our comeuppance ;D
Smile, it confuses people.

Hi

Just come back from lotty.

Now filled second compost bay!!

Due to crack in the lid my chicken poo was under water so i have poured this over the 2 compost heaps and wrapped them up nice and warm as i will not be back on the lotty now till monday. (apparantly chicken poo helps make compost quicker ).

I scattered the bit of poo at the bottom of the tub over all the beds in the plot.

I picked some berries ( red and goose ) and some rhubarb as the leaves were badly eaten by the slugs.

It was however when i was heading back to the car did i realise that i was perhapse not as careful with the chicken poo as i had hopped so have just had to have a shower  :-X

I have now decided that dinner at the pub is called for!!

Will be back in an hour or so :-) (pub is 50 yards away)

Darn pub has karaoke on so were going for a chinese.
