I have planted 7 rows of Swede and need to weed the bed, trouble is I don't know what a swede seedling looks like so i'm worried about pulling the wrong thing out! Any photo's of a seedling out there to help me please.

if you have ever grown any other brassicas you will recognise the seedlings of swede as it is a brassica and they all look pretty similar.

Exactly... just like any cabbage/broccoli/sprouts until they get a bit bigger!
;D

.....and if you taste one ...nibble ..nibble ... mmm..they taste of swede !   ;D
I just thinned out mine...cant resist nibbling !  Rohaise

isnt it amazing how the tiniest weeniest seedling has the full flavour of its grown up plant. never ceases to amaze me. :)

If they are that small I would leave the weeding for a bit then you will see the distinction between weeds & swedes.

Plus you are less likely to loosen the swedes and let cabbage root fly in!!

Question? What are you going to do with SEVEN rows of swedes?

How long is a row?
