My runner beans.
This idea seems to be working better than last years wig wams!

Planted some herbs along side too

You'll have beans!

Two thirds of ours were trashed by the gales.

Biscombe

Oh no!! I have to overcompensate for the wind, its really strong here!

Looks great now but can I suggest some stronger supports?

Im just thinking about the added wieght when the plants have really grown and are full of beans.

Im sure the net is a great idea but Im concerned about the thin canes at both ends.
You can pick your friends, and you can pick your nose, but you can't pick your friends nose

Echo this comment here  - with that amount of plants, there'll be a considerable weight when they start to crop. My too-elaborate construction of canes and string met its end last year when wind hit it in August, and that was sheltered on two sides by thick hedging.

Biscombe

Not canes but metal rods! well and truly knocked in, still vunerable?  :-\

I love the way that you have oranges just lying about on the ground, like just so many windfalls!

If the prevailing wind is coming from the direction of those trees, you should be ok.
