maybe your big flowers can be explained by the "strange flowers on tomatoes " thread

i haven't got any flowers on my tomatoes yet  :-[

dandelion

Noticed today that the first fruit has set on mine.

Marmande has large fruit so give them good support-they are not the easiest to ripen but the flavour is very good

northener

Whoo bring em on. What dyou mean Cleo not easist to ripen?

Rhubarb Thrasher

Last year was a good year for Marmande ripening, tho I did get some blossom end rot. Maybe be prepared for making lots of Green Tomato Chutney

cleo

Well only my experience from growing them outside but big fruited types need a longer season to get properly ripe-when I lived in Leeds it was very much down to the year

Fried Green Tomatoes, these are ideal for that. Yumee XX Jeannine
