The flowerhead thingies are what I had last year Baggieboy and I was told by my lotties on site to pinch them off, but by the time they had been spotted nearly all my white onions had them, the stems were really puffy and the onion stopped growing at that stage. So I never got any white ones this year just the yellow and red, in my opinion if you catch them early they should be all right but I'm sure someone on here is more of an expert on the onion front than myself.  ;D ;D ;D

Two Choices

Thanks Dizzy, only watered them twice so hopefully not too much harm done. Like you, hope no frost comes down near heathrow too. TC :)

Well there are grey skies in Oxfordshire but the BBC website says it will rain tomorrow now not today :'(

Think I'll start doing a rain dance tonight just to make sure LOL!!!

Mine sre only about 1" diameter and sitting almost on top of the soil in some places. If we get some rain, and mulch to keep it moist, should the mulch be kept away from the onions or used to "earth up"?
