If any of you are stuck on the M1 this Saturday afternoon, and looking to while away a couple of hours waiting for the traffic to clear, the Markyate Allotment Association are holding their annual show at St John's church, just off the A5, 2 miles north of J9.  It's a proper village show, everything from veg, fruit and flowers to cookery and handicrafts.

Tea and cakes will be served.

This is (hopefully) the Multimap link, and the church is just about where it says B4540, just north of the red circle.

Another one to look out for this weekend is the Early Show of the Enfield and District Chrysanthemum Society being held at Capel Manor College in Enfield on Saturday and Sunday.  They do dahlias as well.
