Sarah swapped some squash seeds with me earlier in the year and we decided that a squash trail trial would be fun.

Sarah had planned the 16th for sowing as this is an advantageous day in the moon's cycle.  I have never tried lunar sowing, so agreed to give it a go.

I know that lots of peeps have already got their swaps sown and underway - but anyone else want to join in?

I am also going to do my cuc's, melons and peppers.

Jeanine - not sure what more I can explain ???

Tomorrow is the day that Supersprout and myself had agreed to sow our squash and other 'fruiting' seeds.

I know its a bit late but thought I would share with the forum in case anyone else wanted to have a 'Sprout sowing session..........

I sowed Sarah's Japanese Dumpling and Futusu (?) on Saturday (thanks to Trixibelle).  Does a couple of days matter too much in the world of the moon, or should I sow some more today when I get in from work.

I'd love to take part in the trial and will keep an eye on this thread.

May I join in please? I have several kinds of SS squash seeds plus other squash seeds given by other kind members here that aren't sown yet. :)
Is it just fruiting vegetables that benefit from this sowing?

Oh... I was planning on sowing mine towards the end of the month so they don't get too leggy before planting them out, will plant my SS squashes tonight if I get chance, but seems a bit early??? Guess she knew what she was doing....

Mine are well under way and I checked them this morning and they have 6 main leaves.
As they are in frames, I anticipate an early crop you can see the progress on:-

I sowed Super's Japanese Dumpling & Futusu too early, or whether the seed didn't come true but they're not up yet  :'( Apologies if the seeds I sent don't sprout (as it were)

But the GOOD news is, her winter squashes are all up AND I've got a Triamble that I didn't manage to germinate last year  ;D I've still got the seed packet with a little picture of it she drew & the words "GOOGLE ME - VERY RARE!" :)

Oh and one Futusu seed I sent to my mum HAS germinated so maybe all is not lost :)
