This is a picture I took of a rock whilst walking in Dovedale. It looks like some sort of animal head, probably a dragon. Funny what the weather can do to rock formations.

Cool pic looks like a dragon but what amazed me are the other animals in the rock......Must be like a zoo for bricks  ;D ;D

O.K the rabbit is dodgy

How did you all miss the face?

ninnyscrops

I can see the dinosaur face - is that what you mean?
If I ever get it all right - then that's the time to quit.

good find

Only saw the dinasaur to begin with. Now I look at it I can see more.

The area that this rock was found is in a large valley and as far as I know the area used to be under water originally. There are loads of stones along the route where actual large fossils have been found.  :)

the kids are moaning about visiting dovedale again - they like the stepping stones, where about is the rock?
If its easy to find a feel a trick coming on ;)

wolflike

Its right next to the main path.

I think, if I remember rightly, it is before the section where it goes up a set of steps. Which means it is not very far at all.

Sorry I can't be more precise. Hope this helps.

My kids are 14 and 16 and my 14 year old believed us! ;D

I think I know the bit you mean. Steps up quite steep and steps down a little bit later river bends to the left(looking up river). Last question - looking up river (river on the left) is it on the left or right of the path

sally_cinnamon

What about the rock???  Can anyone see the rock?? (!!!!) ::)

I saw a duck too....

This is great fun!  All my work colleagues think I've gone a bit potty as I'm staring and squinting at a picture of a rock!!! They don't understand.... :(

;D
Thank you to all who donated to the Moonlight Half Marathon Walk in aid of St Catherine's Hospice - my mum and I raised just over £300!!!    ............     Thanks!  :-)

I can't really believe I am posting this, but that rock is amazing. A rock with a difference, right in the middle of the land of my ancestors AND I can remember when you could park there for free!

The last one above from sally_cinammon I think looks more like a gargoyle's head looking slightly right and forward?

Any more?

Grandma

There's a perfect carp there - (sorry, I can't do arrows or circles) - but the fish is looking to the right and the blackbird is sitting on its back, just to the right of its tail fin!

ninnyscrops

I can see a beaked animal talking to a one eared mouse, under the ledge next to the sleeping hedgehog!
