Chitted potatoes

Hello all
Do the shoots on my potatoes have to be a certain length before i plant them? They are about a cm at the moment! I wanted to plant them today but don't know whether its too soon.

Does'nt really matter. so long as you have some shoots thats all.

Plant them when it suits you. Chitting only gives them a bit of a head start. (Supposedly - there's a debate going on at the moment as to whether it's even worthwhile or not.)
