...would it be a really bad idea to plant my beetroot seedlings this afternoon? what is I cover them up? Also my broadbeans went out on the plot yesterday. They have been outside for a while in pots but have not seen frost. They are about 1 foot tall. Shall I cover them up? or will they be ok?

They should be ok, broad beans are hardy little..things, but for peace of mind put some fleece over them, or you'll be worrying all night! ;D
Smile at your enemies.

It makes them wonder what you are up to.

i am going to be watering my plants in my mini greenhouse and seal them up for the night....

there is very little on my plot that will suffer.

Sparkly

Thanks guys. I have been down to the plot and built a frame for my raspberries. Have covered up the beans to keep my mind at rest  ;D Haven't put the beetroot in yet. Will probably do that tommorrow. Hopefully the weather will warm up! We are off to Whitby this weekend and I am hoping we get weather like last weekend!

If there is a frost predicted you shouldnt water at night water in the morning instead

It's only a light one, won't get into greenhouses but it is a reasonable point...
