Hi All,

In a fit of ambition I bought from ebay 10 coldframe covers as in the pic above.

They are each about 54" X 45" and the plan is to build a couple of rows of cold frames.  They are heavy and thick (about 2").  I was thnking of building a wooden frame and having them on top but cant work out how to hinge them so as I can access the insides easily without the risk of it crashing down on my head.

Has anyone any experience of building such a thing or indeed have any plans?  I think I massively over egged my woodworking ability somewhere along the line!

Many thanks

If it was me I would build 2 coldframes, using 5 panels on each.

3 would sit on  baton runners inside the coldframe and the other 2 would sit on top of the frame. Then you could slide them along instead of lifting them each time.
