Some of my sets which are still in a net bag have shoots on them up to 3 inches, can I plant them out?
My idea was to build Liverpool into a bastion of invincibility. Napoleon had that idea. He wanted to conquer the bloody world. I wanted Liverpool to be untouchable. My idea was to build Liverpool up and up until eventually everyone would have to submit and give in. Bill Shankly.

Why not?

But net them, or the birds will have them out again.

Cut net from around  them and bury them to bottom of shoot..They should grow ok ..

There are loads in our garden centre still at full price, and they are just like yours silly billy. I assume, therefore, that they are OK, as otherwise they would not be being sold.

Want to bet?  They're still selling last year's grow bags which have been stored in the open.

oooo glad someone else has asked this....I have some sets that PILs gave me last year that I completely forgot about & they have all started sprouting....presume they will be ok to plant this year?

i found 2 bags of onion sets in aug last year that should have gone in march 06 and planted them anyway and the crop is almost ready now as we have had such a mild winter  ;D

So i would recomend you plant away, although the ones with shoots are the ones the birds will go for first.
