 :)

bought one of these today from Wilko's,it was in the fruit bush section, only a pound so I couldn't resist :P

After using google, I find birds eat the berries in winter when 'the tasty berries are no longer around',  ::) hence the name chokeberry!!, its a North American bush, and pots of Black chokeberry preserve are being sold on e -bay.

has anyone on here grown it/growing it?

anyone used the berries for jams and preserves,

many thanks / shades x

I have one ... planted it in a pot and at the moment it has the most beautiful bronze foliage   :)

I have the intention to grow it for jelly ... we can compare notes  ;D

I have one! Planted last spring, it's something from my childhood and I personally like it. Little trick is to soak the fruit overnight with cherry leaves before making jam or mix with pears. It gives an amazing colour to juices and it is good for your heart and blood vessels.
