I thought that an update on the Allotment project at my children's school in Lincoln was long overdue although there hasn't been a great deal to report since I last posted on here.
As with all veggie growing, the appearance of good weather sends us scurrying to the lottie and I've spent all my spare time over at the school this week.
I've posted two new photos on Blogger of the progress so far.

There has been a couple of minor hiccups, one being that the school hadn't sent off the seed order I gave them but that is now sorted and the other has been the building of the fence that surrounds the project.
I swear that the Great Wall of China was easier to erect!! ::)
The most important news is that the classroom windowsills are full of pots with cabbage, cauli, broad beans, etc etc.
Before half term, I am going to supervise  ??? the planting of peas, onion sets, carrots etc.
The youngest children are growing potatoes in buckets and there has been a steady stream of parents arrivving with buckets and containers.
It is looking good and I hope to keep everybody up to date as more work progresses.

Am thinking of doing something similar here in Kings Lynn, but unsure where we stand for insurance purposes etc. My patner teaches in a primary school, but unfortunately, there is a fair amount of vandalism at the school, due to it being on an estate where, sadly, there is a good deal of "yob culture." One of our concerns is how do you keep away the vandals? As from previous experience with these kiddies, they are devastated when their growing things are vandalised.

It is looking great Pete!  I think you have achieved a lot.  Our community project is progressing very very slowly, but gradually you can see some movement. See below for the stage we are at.  Keep, keeping us informed as it will be a good motivation for us.  :) busy_lizzie
