Can anyone recommend a place for cheap seeds, please?

Hi,

I'm trying to get some White Lady runner beans but they're all so expensive, does anyone know where I can get them cheaper than 50 seeds for £2.99?

I actually bought two packs of them late last year from Alan Romans (60 seeds for £1) but I somehow lost them and now A.R. have sold out.

If anyone has any ideas I'd be very grateful, thanks.

Don't know if they have/had white lady, but Netto, Lidl, and Aldi have all recently been selling seeds, both flower and veg, at 29p per packet.
I know that Netto had some runner beans, but can't remember which ones.
Might be worth a look though if you have any of them local to you.

I have some Mergoles whiteseeded left over from last year. If you want them you can have them. PM me if you would like them.
Grow your own and enjoy the fruits of your labours,
Regards Alan.

White Lady
Edwin Tucker ... 100 seeds for £2.30
p&p is £1 regardless of order quantity (seeds only)

also Wilko do a great deal on seeds, buy any 1 packet and get any other packet free, but do not know if they do White Lady.

If it will help ... can let you have 10 seeds, send me a PM

Netto's dwarf beans are 'tendergreen' and the runner beans are 'scarlet emporer' Just bought  24 various packets for under a fiver (19p per packet) including 5 packets of sweetcorn (incredible F1) that I paid £1.49 per pack last year! Happy days.

Follow this link. Great nursery in Longleat estate. Doesn't do White Lady but Painted Lady is link 50 seeds @ £1.75. Very helpful on the phone.

I thought I'd bought some White Lady runner beans when I was in either B&Q or Wilkinsons. I must have got sidetracked because there is no sign of them in my seed box. They were definitely in one of those two shops.
I think they came out best in the GW taste test which is why I was going to buy them.

Common_Clay

That's the reason I was going for them this year too vee, after watching GW!

Thanks to everyone who posted on this, I opted for Edwin Tucker in the end as Alan Romans aren't getting any new stock in. Thanks very much to Mikey for that tip, saved me a bit, I was resenting the thought of paying £6 + p&p for the same quantity!

cornykev, no, didn't get my pallets back but then I've only seen her once over the winter and I feel quite sorry for her, the whole of her plot is extremely waterlogged, the water is way up over the carpets she had down and the pallets are sticking up through it, looks more suited to coy carp than veg. Anyway, I stopped feeling angry about it a long time ago, if I see her taking the carpet off when it's dry then I'll get them back but otherwise I'll let it go... but if she takes something else without asking...  >:( ;D

Had to ask CC I havn't been able to sleep thinking about them.    ;D ;D ;D
