Can someone tell me how ramsons multiply.

I have some growing at the bottom of my plot in a dark area. I'm wondering if they will multiply underground via the bulbs like snowdrops or do they need to seed on the surface? If so how long might it be before I have a nice bushy undergrowth of yummy ramsons.

They seem to clump up with their bulbs, but seem to self-seed a little too. Just remember they really want to be somewhere fairly damp, at least when they're in leaf.

Here they are last year, its a damp north facing corner at the bottom of my sloping plot. Ideal as far as I know.

Ooh, they look lovely. :)

The only thing I notice is that when I see them in the wild they're 'planted' much deeper - there's usually no thin bit of leaf visible at the base, only the thicker part.

They'll clump up by their bulbs & also spread themselves around by their seeds.  Before you know it they will be all over the place - but lovely & easily recognisable so they can be pulled up if they grow in the wrong place.

brilliant. I love how they look and how they smell.
