Ceri

Quick update - last one as I'm trying to give up being smug now!  Quit smoking after 23 yrs 5 weeks ago.  since then the following changes have happened.

1. I now cycle the 3/4 mile to the lottie across the fields (public footpath) where before I'd drive 2 miles round by car
2. I can dig/weed etc. for hours at a time where 10-15 minute slots were all I could manage before.
3. My dog has lost the 4 kg weight she needed to as we walk so much further.
4. My muscles hurt - before they never could because I would run out of oxygen before I ever worked hard enough for long enough to push my muscles
5. I smell nice (before the digging anyway)
6. My clothes smell nice
7. I can do anything that requires puffing and panting for much longer than I could before (yes, that included)
8. I have added over half an octave to my voice range.
I'm going away now to try and give up being smug and supercilious about it in public.  Do I still want a f*g - ooooooh yes - will I ever smoke again - yes, I'm going to start again when I'm 92 (a girl has to have something to look forward to!)
8. I have put on weight - a whole 1.5 lbs
9. Food tastes of actual food.

What can I say Ceri - YOU'RE A STAR!!!!!

Wonderful news!! I was beginning to think you'd started again as we hadn't had an update.

Keep it up and before you know it it'll be 5 MONTHS, then 5 YEARS!!!!!  We are all sooooo proud of you.

Love and best wishes, Eileen.

Yay Ceri!   ;D Excellento!!    ;D ;D It was the smell that amazed me, and still does to this day.  And my teeth.  I used to get little fur coats on every tooth and by the end of the day my mouth was fur lined.  Now my teeth feel smooth and clean and shiney all day through!  Good for you ceri!!  So, how much cash have you saved, I mean, not only quitting the fags, but the petrol now you are cycling?!?!?!

Wicker

Ceri, you sound so happy that I almsot feel like starting smoking so I could give it up!! ;D Good on you.
Equality isn't everyone being the same, equality is recognising that being different is normal.

Make sure you spend the money saved on something YOU want, don't let it vanish into household stuff. You are doing a big thing and deserve a real big reward!
Ps I am most envious, I keep trying and don't get past a few hours!
