new allotments!

I've just read in the Eastern Daily Press that there may be new allotments in Watton, Norfolk:

"A 1.6 acre filed off Thetford Road may soon be leased to Watton Town Council for 10 years at a peppercorn rent. The council hopes to transform the land into much-needed allotment space and an open park area."

apparently they have "quite a long waiting list". decision to be made on Feb 27th so fingers crossed.
I also read an article a couple of weeks ago about an old derelict allotment site in the Mile Cross area being brought back into use (in a "Green Gym" project with the BTCV, I think).
