Hi

Another silly q from me :-)

I put a sp slip in a jar of water, didnt even think if there was a right and wrong way.

Anyway i put the rounded end in the water and the pointy end out. The pointy end has gone rotten and now the whole lot is a squidge with not a root in sight!

Did i put it in the wrong way?

when the slips appear, I pot them in to compost  :)

I've never gone as far as sweet patooties OO, but from this description in the Vegetable Gardener's Bible it looks like you can cut it up into bits to get slips - might just be bad luck this time?

I've got that book as well, it didn't work for me last year,
when we planted the potato in the ground, we got loads of slips,
trying it again this year, don't know if I did something wrong last year  ;D
