hi anyone know wot wud burrow under compost bin

I get thrushes & blackbirds digging around the edges as there are so many worms around there sometimes they do manage to dig what looks like a burrow. The other possibility would be rats but they would tunnel through the compost as well to get to the fresher stuff on top you would see several tunnels about 2" across when you opened the bin.

I would go for field mice, I find them harmless and find the burrows help to aereate the heap. Doubt if it is moles.

I had a rat in my compost bin (plastic) and it had a burrow under the bin to get in.
