Need help with Potatoes

As new to all this can someone explain to me (yes I am abit tick!! ???)

A.  when are the best times to plant out 1st early / 2nd early / maincrop ?

B.  when do you harvest them

C. best way to store while you are waiting

and what are the differences???

Agree with kaytee, now that spuds are arriving by post and in the stores, there have been lots of very specific queries in the last couple of weeks. Like with most things veggie, there is no single 'right answer' - if you search here you'll find forum members advocating different ways with their patooties. A really good time to get a feel of the options available to choose one that fits with your circumstances, soil type and soil :)

If you like a good book, MT's recommendation of the Alan Roman Potato Book finally got me to Amazon, and so glad it did - it's a mine of information from the historic role of the spud, recent research, refers to trials and options, and pics of the spuds on each page with details of their breeding history. Not a celebrity puff, just very detailed and nicely written information. Thank you MT! :-*

Now you know I have been hankering after just such a write up SS - your could have told me.  My WHS tokens were wasted on Christmas pressies for the kids ::) ;D
