A bloke from work keeps ducks and asked if i could use the straw from his ducks bedding area which has duck poo in it on my allotment i thought i probably could, but i was just wondering will it be best dug into my beds or put on top after planting up.

Most 'fowl' droppings can be quite hot and can do more damage than good if it comes in contact with plants.

I would let it weather for a few weeks in the open before using it, or mix it in with other composted material on the compost heap.

I have also used it as a liquid manure;  place the dropping in a string/hessian bag and submerge in a barrel.

Give it a shake once in a while to release the beneficial material.

Water your plants with the liquor.

Yes, compost it, wonderful stuff
