Has no one put a boat sized wind generator on top of their shed or a well anchored pole?  The one I got for my boat produced 3amps per hour and would run a television without the aid of a battery!  Mind you, need to make sure there is good head clearance!  :D

You could use a parafin storm lantern. Why would you want to work on the plot in the dark. Where I am when it gose dark it goes DARK! So if I eluminated my shed it would be a beacon for every muppet in staffordshire.

Its always raining in the south west in water I have to try and do my maintenance inthe dry whenever I can

the lights i use in my shed are the ones that you get in caravans they are 12 volt and mines last for months running of a 12 volt heavy duty car batteryin the summer i run a car radio of the battery.A leisure battery which you get for caravans are great for running a small 12 volt TV that is if you have the time to watch.
