Well

out of everything I have sown, my courgettes seem to be doing the best.

They are all about 6" tall now.  I have transplanted them into grow bags but what i need to know is, how does the plant grow, does it bush out, does it need supporting, as they just seem to be growing really tall.

Please advise before its to late?

it doesn't need support - trails outwards (but not very far) along the ground.
gone to pot :D

courgettes come in bush types or trailing types -what is the variety you have?

You haven't got them out of doors yet have you Les?  I am curious cos mine are only just germinating, I always think of them as super tender and don't even think of planting them out until mid-May.  Just remember to pick pick pick otherwise you will end up with a couple of marrows and no more courgettes!

Ooo, and altho they trail quite nicely along the ground, you could grow them up a support if you wanted.  We are going to grow some squashes up and over an arch.  ;D

Hi EJ

They are in the greenhouse in grow bags.  They got to be about 8" tall before I knew it (or better still knew what to really do with them)

I have planted them in grow bags with most of the stem covered, they seem to be doing really well and are starting to get lots of leaves shooting.....hope this is what they are meant to do!

It all seams to be coming together.....

Take care

Les, I hope that you plan to move the outside once the weather warms up.  Ive only grown them once in the greenhouse and ended up with all courgette plants and no greenhouse. ;D
Take time to stop and smell the flowers.

Thanks for the advise Mimi.

Will definately do that.

Some squash family things are trailing, and I read somewhere that you could train them vertical (with strong supports...)
