Dear squash growers and show-ers,

In the village show this weekend (eeek!) one of the classes is for courgettes.  I may have enough long yellow courgettes, but I will have 3 lovely bright patty pans ready.  Would they be considered the same as courgettes as they are summer squashes like courgettes are?

Thanks all!  ;D

Probably not but why not put them in the other veg category..?

I've no clue about showing veg, but just want to wish you good luck for the weekend.  :)
Make the most of today, because you'll never have it back again.

Good luck with the show.  Do let us know how you get on; some pics would be great :D

Okaaaaaaaaaaaay.  I didn't realise I could enter as many times in each catagory as I liked, but I could (if I were very lucky) only win once within that catagory - so in other words, I could enter the pattypans, and my swiss chard as 2 seperate entries in the 'other veg' section.

Very complex all this showing lark!  My biggest problem is, we have eaten all the good stuff!!  I shall plan properly next year.

Good luck with the show.
I got a first for my patty pan in our show, under the category 'squash', the courgettes were under the category 'courgette' and unfortunately didn't do well.
We are only allowed to enter one item(s) in each category.
I don't know if there are different rules geographically.
Have a great time tho'.

Hope you're going to give them a polish up, so the skins are nice and shiny  ;D
Best of luck with the show!

Thanks all.  Blimey, I am sooooooooooooo nervous!  I don't think I stand much of a chance of winning, but, I would like to enter them comps next year, so this will at least give me an idea.  I am already aware of the HUGE standard after visiting the summer show.  Anyhow, yes, loads of photos, and yes, I will report back, whatever the outcome!  ;D
