Some garlic bulbs have tiny cloves that would be a faff to peel >:( This year we plaited them up separately to the fatties, and use them lazily in the pressure cooker.

Anyone else do this? ::)

Tops chopped off (the bottoms keep cloves stuck together during cooking)

and bulbs put on top of whatever, cut side down

After cooking they are still on top

to squeeze out of their skins and stir in :)

Thank you curry ;D top tip is to let the pot cool before squeezing :-[ :'( ;)

Yes, I have scorched my fingers too many times, I will never learn.

I watched my wife peeling garlic very laboriously the other day, and managed to irritate her by showing her a quick method, which you are probably adept at too.

Having chopped the roots off, I press the cloves with the flat of my knife (I love big flat bladed knives) to slightly crush them. The skin then just rubs off, and the cloves are already crushed ready for cooking.

try roasting garlic (unpeeled) in the oven with a little oil drizzled over and foil covered - amazing stuff, you could eat it spread on toast it becomes so sweet and delicious - just don't expect anyone to kiss you for a week though  :-*
