Hello all

Just returned from a 2 week break to France and everything on the allotment looks great. Beans tumbling (including the Borletti), Squashes glowing, Pink Fir Apple ready etc

The reason for the blues is that upon our return my wife found a package that had been left for us when we were away. Inside were 80 odd lovely seedlings just ready for planting that had been in a cardboard box for 2 weeks! The plants were mouldy and starting to rot down.

The question is does anyone know where I can get any Kale, Cabbage etc seedlings to grow over the winter ( I missed the right slot to plant germinate)?

Thanks

Mike

Poor you! (But the hol sounds great)

If it's any help, Dobies --  http://www.dobies.co.uk/ -- has a collection of broccoli, cabbage and caulis for £10.95:

50 plants (10 of each variety):
Sprouting Broccoli Claret - produces extra large purple spears from early April; Sprouting Broccoli Late White - gives a succession of tender white shoots from mid March;
Cabbage Excel  - very versatile Cabbage that will form tasty pointed hearts in early spring but can be cut as leaves in Autumn if needed
Cabbage Spring Hero - hardy ball headed Cabbage that will mature into solid heads from early May
Cauliflower Mayflower - overwinter Cauliflower with high quality curds for cutting in April.
