This is my second year with a greenhouse, and I have tomato plants absolutely laden with fruit and cucumbers that are positively obscene. - So the bad news? My toms are absolutely tasteless!
I have six varieties, all grown from seed, except the Beafsteak, bought at the last minute, and they are an epicurean disaster.
I heated the greenhouse after I sowed the seeds in May, I put in an automatic watering system & feed regularly.
I can only assume that it is "in the breedin'"
Can you suggest WHERE I should buy my seed & what varieties I should go for? I have twelve plants in the greenhouse, and like to have variety - say two of each, so buying seed on a commercial scale would not make sense.

This isn't an answer to your question jeremy, but I was really disappointed with the insipid flavour of my first g'house toms too :'( :'( Compared with the first outdoor ones which are sooo zippy! I can only assume that the outdoor ones have less water so the flavour is more concentrated? At this rate, outdoor for me next year! Look forward to seeing what gets the vote in reply to your post ::)

i personally feel you are looking after them too well, I think you can feed and water too much and the flavour goes, my outdoor toms hav'nt been watered at all(until a storm yesterday ;D) and they taste fantastic,my greenhouse toms will be picked tomorrow and hopefully everything I just advised you on will be true ;D,I dont water them much either !/ shades x
