Went to the plot this evening with a bit of dread as Blight has arrived, it has hit some of the toms very hard and also some of the spuds. Stripped lots of foliage from the toms and cut away the tops of one spud, Ratte. Looks like I will be doing the same with the second Earlies and mains soon.

But I also picked lots of flowers for the house to cheer me up! And Thanks to Emma for reminding me that I grow flowers for the house as well as food!

Sun Flowers

Rhudbeckia

Dahlia

Coreopsis

Sweet peas

And how some of them ended up

Just glad blight does not hit flowers!!!!

Wow Jerry your sunflowers are superb.

What variety are they?

Sorry to hear about the blight, will watch out for it here too.  I have grown outdoor toms for the first time for ages and not looking forward to having to dig them up again! :(

Thanks, they are Harlequin, a pollen free variety great for cut flowers, my 8 plants will give bunches of heads right through the summer now.
