hello to every one on this forum just found you all last night this is my first post.and so far it seems a very nice and friendly place just from reading through some threads, anyway my name is mark but my nickname is heeby ive been interested in the good life for quite a while but living in a one bedroom flat doesn't lend its self to total self sufficency although ive grown chillies in pots and got a great mound of lavender out side where i lifted a few paving slabs to get to the soil ive also got an interest in homebrew and wild life and it seems youve got it all here.ive just placed an enquiry with my local council about getting a plot on one of my local allotments which is how i found you (a link from wakefield councils allotment web site)so hopefully i will have a lot more growing room soon .also it seems you have no forum for new members to introduce themselves so i posted here with a suggestion aswell ,
                 mark
p.s get ready for a rush of newbie questions if i do get a plot(fingers crosssed)

Hiya Mark, Welcome to A4A!

You'll always find a good bunch here to talk to through all manner of things. I've not posted for a while but havig found my feet n our new garden should be much more in evidence, so look forward to hearing your news.

We've got lots of chillis and peppers inpots this season - most from a packet that came up trumps (I gave half the proceeds to a gardening friend, and gave some green chillis to my Mum when she came for lunch today), and some roasting peppers that a friend gave us last week - Fab!

CLx (now in Hampshire, but I won't be changing my name)

Hi Heeby, and welcome - though I'm pretty new here myself.

I think you're more likely to get about 10 answers, although there will be some sort of concensus in the end! ;D
