Hi folks

I've got a lovely load of toms but they don't seem to be going red. Should I pick them and stick um in a paper bag with an apple as my Nan suggests or am I just being impatient. I thought this hot weather might turn them.

cheers!!!

More patience required, they will come around soon enough.

One thing I have grow before are tomatoes so I could answer your question. Leave them they will go red in time and taste so much better leaving them to go red on the plant.

First time solo growing tomatoes, so newbie question ... do they reach maximum size whilst green then go red, or do they grow after they have started to go red
:-[ :)

Robert_Brenchley

They reach full size then change colour.

Thank you robert, I'll be patient then - if they're still green, it means they must be getting FAT ;D

djbrenton

They do still grow slightly when going red, hence splitting if they get over-watered.

Thanks dj, I'll save the fattening splurges for the green stage then ;)
