This is only my second year growing Corn but all of my plants (Lark F1) have developed side shoots at the base of the main stem. Is this normal and should I remove them? Thanks...Just steamed a plate of Red DOY for tea and couldn't resist. Now they're all gone. Better go and dig some more before the wife gets home. :)

Tis normal, no don't remove them.  I believe if you are lucky, you will get a few extra cobs on them.

Perfectly normal and if you earth upthe plants soon they may grow to provide cobs
