Do you mean growing slips or planting already produced slips? I think it's a bit late to start growing slips as they take ages, I'm just planting my slips (the ones that survived) that I started off 3-4 months ago.
Hopefully someone will be able to tell you more.

thanks for the rsponse, and sorry for not being clear, I mean planting already produced slips....had them in the greenhouse for a few weeks now...

planted my slips from T&M last week - their advice was to plant under black material / plastic to help warm the soil.

I planted my slips in pots in the greenhouse, they looked really miserable for about a fortnight, all recovered eventually and are now growing strongly, just put three into a black dustbin of compost in the greenhouse! Some will go in the poly and some in a hot box I have prepared nearby, to see which do best! An edible crop would be a bonus but I'm treating them like exotic morning glory for the pose factor!

i planted my two slips out yesterday - they had already started 'vining' away at a rate of knots.
hope they like it out there

Mine from HDRA looked really miserable.  2 died immediately, one died last week and another is dying.  The remaining 6 now look okay... so far...  I was quite disappointed by the quality.

mine looked really good when they arrived, although not all had roots.  Potted them up as instructed and left them for 2-3 weeks.  Some looked past it when I planted them (that hot spell we had didn't do them much good), but now they are looking reasonable.

Have fingers crossed
