Hi everyone,
Am growing veg in pots/ containers this year and have a pot of 4 dwarf runner beans. They are growing really well as are the peas and one tomato plant!  I'd love some more dwarf beans if anyone has some please, as they don't grow too high and look nice and compact in the tub.

Also could you guys recommend any other veg (mainly dwarf) that would grow in pots and looks ornamental. OR am i too late to plant stuff now?
I will PM you with seeds etc I have to swap.

Thanks alot  :D

Hi cardinalflower,

There are several things we grow in containers.  One of the worthwhile plants we grow is pea Half Pint (we get the seed from Plants of Distinction).  It is a dwarf pea, and is ideally suited to growing in tubs.  The seed is not particularly cheap, but if you buy two packets, one to sow early, and another for later on.  We are currently picking from our first sowing, and have the later sowing ready to take over when the first sowing has finished.  Apart from anything else, they do seem to crop well.

Other things we grow indoors in tubs are (fruitwise - strawberries), carrots, dwarf french beans, climbing french beans, beetroot, spring onions, C&CA salad leaves.  This year for the first time we have grown courgettes (variety Partenon or Parthenon depending upon which seed catalogue you look at).  We have already had some off them.

For me today, the best bit. was going into No 2 greenhouse and picking 1lb 12oz strawberries (grown in contaqiners).  The smell.  Oh god you've got me drooling again!!
