Hi all,
I have some cayenne chilli plants about 10" tall and one has forked at the top - should this have happened?  Sorry for such a basic question, first time grower!
Thank you to all who donated to the Moonlight Half Marathon Walk in aid of St Catherine's Hospice - my mum and I raised just over £300!!!    ............     Thanks!  :-)

Sounds good! I'm not a chilli ace, but I would say let it be.

It's fine.  If you'd pinched out at about 10cm (which I never do but some recommend) it would have done it sooner.  Do your plants have any support?  They may need it.

perfectly normal.

they will then fork again, and again and again and so on

Oh I see, is that how they become bushier?

Yes, i have bamboo sticks as support, they are indoors also so no wind to contend with.  Lots of little buds starting to appear now, very excited! ;D

Yup

I pinch out the tops at about 6 inches, I find they fork sooner this way, and rarely need any suport.

Forking is a good thing.
