Would there be any potential problems planting my courgette, squash and pumpkin plants in my large manure heap through some black plastic?

Thanks.

I have grown Marrows and courgatttes on a manure heap but it was really rotted manure with no heat in it. If the heap was in any way new there would be a danger of burning the roots.Old horse manure that has been used for mushrooms would be OK.

Last year, I planted some seeds of Courgette and Patty Pans in my manure heap, covered with plastic and had an amazing crop. This was standard well rotted farmyard muck.

The only plants which I have had growing in my compost heap have been volunteer potatoes, but we have had a couple of dinners from them.
The impossible is just a journey away ...

I work two compost heaps, effective a one year old and a two year old.

I find I can grow most of the things suggested on this.

As you can see here; ( excuse the weeds the pumpkins didn't seem to mind :)
