I sowed 3 types of broad beans in January - Sutton, Red Epicure and AC. All have been in their raised beds since early March and have been growing away happily. The Sutton and Red Epicure have a profusion of flowers and look l;ike they will crop soon. The AC, while they have been growing very strongly, and are at apperox. 2 1/2 - 2 3/4 " right now, have very few flowers. I am perplexed - I thought this variety was supposed to be prolific?  All 3 varieties have received the same treatment. Could it be that the AC's are not yet at their final height and only then will flower properly? If the AC's are not to flower, I would like to use my very limited space to grow something else instead. Anyone have any ideas/suggestions? many thanks in advance!  :)

Still plenty of time yet, AC are a tall variety and wil get to about 3 foot tall in ideal conditions.

Mine are about 18" high at the moment and showing the odd flower. They have never failed me yet and crop very well.

The AC are almost certainly not mature enough to start flowering yet. Mine are about waist height (I am not small) and are flowering away merrily. Give them time. Mine were sown in September, cut down by the winter frosts but shot up new shoots and started to flower in early April. Just starting to set tiny beans now.

Mine are about 18" tall, flowering profusely and I have some small pods  ;D but just to make you feel better my Feb sowing of the same totally failed to materialise - rotted in their pots.  My April sowing of Bunyards are doing fine though.
