Interesting basket idea

As I lay poorly in my sick bed, I watch an hour and a half of gardening tonite, a year at Kew, a repeat I know, but I love that series, that make a garden revisited with Mr T, then Gardeners World.

Would like to say, I very much liked the look of Joe Swifts hanging baskets with the succulents in.  I have seen them made into balls using house leeks, but i thought they looked fab, and ideal for the water shortage problem.  I would have probably used some water retaining gel as all plants need some water, even the succulents, but it certainly gave me a few ideas!

EJ. Glad you found something interesting to watch. As said on another thread hope you are soon back to your normal working/busy  life. Take care.

EJ really hope you're feeling better soon.  Best wishes.

My best wishes for getting well, too :)

Mrs Ava

Oh you lot!  Thank you for the kind messages and lots of pm's wishing me well!  I am feeling a lot better now and managed to water the greenhouse and plant a few sunflowers with number one son this morning before the rain.

I am definately going to give the Joe Swift hanging basket idea a go this year.  I have a nice shaped basket, all I have to do is get a liner and my darling to put a bracket up and I am away!  ;D

Jill

That's good news, EJ.  Oops, sorry we did go off topic, but all in a good cause, eh ;).

I missed the prog last night so watched on the 'puter this morning, thanks to your post.  I like the sound of those succulent baskets too.  I don't have a basket or bracket yet and my darling wouldn't know one end of a drill from the other ;D.  Post a piccie when you've done yours, won't you.

Mrs Ava

Well, other half took me for some retail garden shopping therapy this afternoon, (bought me another bamboo for a corner by the greenhouse and a fab brown/red trillium), and they had a whole selection of succulents on special...you know, one of those £1.95 each or buy 4 for £6, sooooooooooooooooo altho I resisted temptation as I don't yet have the said basket ready, I have a bracket, so tomorrow I will get it fitted and then I might go invest those six little pounds!  ;D  I will photograph the entire saga!  ;D ;D
