scaffolding debris netting

has anyone tried using scaffold debris netting to protect brassicas from the pigeons and butterflies or would it block out the sun to much,

love the stuff. it's indestructable and usually free. my favourite price!! i've now  got four rows of brassicas under it and i've used it along my fence to stop weeds from blowing in. has anyone tried to grow peas etc on it, or is it too fine?

ooo, Mine is the dayglo orange variety which is fab, except it really does attract the buzzy things and if you aren't careful, it can fill up with them!  Great stuff tho!

I got mine from a skip on a building site. Ask the person in charge, and they will normally let you just take it away. Mine had a few tears in, but these were easily repaired with a bit of string.

If you want to buy it new, then you can buy it from a trade building supplies.

like emma-jane says 'chat up a scaffolder'. no honestly, i got one load by asking  nicely and they said theyd keep me any left over or being skipped. two days later i got a big roll of it from them. i think its because i handed in some biccies for their tea break! ask around the allotments, last year i got a bit to get me started from a lottie neighbour. i didn't know it came in orange, i've seen blue. does anyone think sweet peas will grow up it?

Rats!  Finally found a roofer to do our chimney stacks at an affordable price but said he'd do it without any scaffolding.  Wey hey on price but boo hoo on price.  Lose out on planks, netting, you name it from a scavenging standpoint. :-\
