I have just come back from the allotment 5 hours hard work, but great fun!  Studiously writing down the name of the spuds, how many rows, etc and  wondered if there is a computer programme where i can input the info as and when i do it...... i use outlook as my diary but would love to see it and plan accordingly visually.  Whilst babysitting last week i wrote it all on a piece of card, but one day it will go missing..... any one got any ideas?

Katinkka, that looks like an interesting programme, thanks. Tilts, have you considered an online blog for your gardening/allotment stuff? That's what I do. www.blogspot.com is a good one, I think.  ;D

If you go to the home page and click on allotment files, it will bring up a list of three downloads. Download 1 is I believe an allotment planning spreadsheet.

Hey tilts, last year I used software available from
http://www.thevga.co.uk/new/welcome.cgi
This was helpful in planning crop space and rotation in the beds during the year.
This year I am using an Excel spreadsheet to schedule sowing and planting. I'll be glad to email you a copy if you want, just pm me your address.

The VGA software was a doddle to use, but more complicated than I needed this year. If you want visuals, it's very nice.

Plotcrop looks interesting too! and very flexible for 'notes' :)

Thank you for all the responses and i shall endeavour to peruse all.  MikeB ~ I  cannot find the download can you give me directions?  :-[

Hi Tilts,

At the top of the page on the left hand side you will see the ' Allotments 4 all ' logo, click on this and it will take you to A4A home page.  In the left column there is a section marked ' Main Menu ', click on the heading ' Allotment Files ', in the center of the screen a new heading appears ' allotment planning " click on this and the spreadsheet download plus sowing guides appear.
