am very excited about getting my own plot and growing my own stuff and last night's veg shopping proved to be a real incentive to get going.

went to nearest supermarket (hate it but no time to go to nice one on the other side of town).

bought carrots - NOT organic. this shop has ONE tiny little area of organic stuff.

was cutting them up to put in the casserole, after i'd scrubbed and peeled them and ate a bit of one of them.

it tasted like HAIRSPRAY! it was truely revolting. if you'd been given it a blind tasting there would be no way that you would identify it as a carrot. i threw them on the compost heap.

the sad thing is there are millions of people out there who must think that this is what veg really tastes like.

however late i am in future, i am never getting veg there again!

"permitted" by fat cats in Brussels who all (probably) have shares or directorships in chemical companies and who have enough money not to have to buy the mass produced rubbish that they force onto the rest of us! >:(

sorry! will stop ranting now. (resigned from my city job years ago because i kept doing that - morals, ethics & principles were not qualities you were supposed to have).

Been there, done that, now I may be classed as a 'lowly' person (viewed by others) but I am healthy and fit as well. I have no time for the beaurocrats ...
The impossible is just a journey away ...

my colleagues all thought that i was mental - "why are u leaving -the money is fantastic, what are you going to do instead?"  - well the money was fantastic BUT i contributed to wasting millions and millions of pounds of tax payers money as well working on projects that resulted in large amounts of people being made redundant.  >:( >:( :-[ :-[

got to the point where i didn't like myself 7 everything i bought seemed tainted, so i resigned, got married, did "lowly" temp for a bit and then had my two kids.

the irony of it all is that my OH is in the construction industry and works for a company that builds.... supermarkets! mind u the ones he builds have just won Organic Retailer of the Year, so it's not all bad.
