saw this in the garden centre yesterday, no label, but was only £1.50 and I really liked it - any ideas what it is and what to do with it?

Oooh - just realised I am now  YaBB God!!  ;D ;D

It looks rather like a Saxifrage, but I can't swear to it. If it is, it'll probably do well planted anywhere it'll get a bit of sunand won't be swamped by bigger plants.

Yep, looks like a saxifrage to me too. Amkazingly resilient- I got 2 from the bargain basement shelf at B&Q last year- just noticed this morning they are both flowering & one of them is barely attached to the compost! They are alpines.

Palustris

Looks very much like one of the mossy saxifrages to me too. They like a moist, but well drained soil and a little shade from the hottest sun(hah!) If they likes you they will ramp!
Gardening is the great leveller.

;D Hi Daisymay AKA YaBBGod ;D This is just a guess... Arenaria montana

Rosa_Mundi

Saxifraga cespitosa, or Tufted Saxifrage. An alpine, as others have said. Tends to split apart as it grows, and blackbirds love pulling it to bits  ;D Also comes in pink.
