I   know this is a brassica. So question does it transplant sucessfully as in starting it in pots/modules in cold greenhouse then transplanting it to growing quarters ?..Reason for asking is on back of packet it says dont transplant ..
But if you have done it successfully I will too ..As it makes for better spacing and neater rows .I only started growing it first time last year through reading about it on here .I sowed it direct in rows and thinned ...But transplanting would be easier ..Cheers ..Jim

That is how I do Jim.  I start them in modules and carefully plant them out once they have their first true leaves.  Done so successfully for the past 2 years and am doing it again this.  This year I have also sown half a row directly, just to see, it was the last pinch in an odd packet of seed to I had nothing to loose!
I love kohl rabi and would not be without it!  More useful in this house than parsnip even as it is so much closer to a spud!

Thanks EJ  .. Will set them in modules then ..Jim

Kohl Rabi are a swollen stem, so I do not understrand the packs advice - would agree and go ahead and soe in modules

No prob in modules at all-and given the spring? we are having I would say go for it.

I usually sow the seeds in a 3" pot in the GH. When large enough to handle they are pricked out into modules, hardened off and transplanted into the garden. I have done it this way for a number of years without any problems.
