Got started on the allotment a bit late this year, and have a plot with nothing in it.

What edibles can I plant so late in the year ?

I've heard maybe some types of potato, lettuces.

Any advice gratefully received.

Cheers

And peas, french beans; a lot of the salad stuff; beetroot; some of the brassica; I'm sowing all these in the next few days, - so much of my plot has been vandalised, I've left it until now, when I'm not in school and can keep an eye on it.

Oh and I'll sow carrots in early August.

All best - Gavin

Hi Folks!
I am new to this site - and new to allotmenteering, so I look forward to learning stuff here.
I aquired my first allotment at the end of July and I have planted leeks, peas and carrots. I have winter cabbages to put in later.
Mostly I have just turned ground over and am hoping that the winter will kill off some of the (many) weeds on a neglected patch of ground.
See y'all,
Keith

I've just put the last of my lettuce seeds in, hoping for a mild September, but except for lots of herbs growing well, I'm just about done, now deciding what's up for next year and playing with compost!
