DOes anyone know of a good website or just know about how long it takes various vegetable seedlings to germinate???? I am wondering when to start looking out for my pea seedlings to come through.

rates depend on soil temp an moisture content
It'll be better next year

Try the wiki (button at the top of the page) when there click on seeds, then seed germination temp, the first table gives temperatures, tables 2 & 3 also give times. Germination time for peas is approx. 14 days.

I also use http://www.heirloomseeds.com/germination.html as a guide (because it is in degrees F :D)

Germination is a journey for the seed; you can see the pea root start to grow from 36 hours after a soak, then they could take another ten days or so to show their first leaves through the soil. Variations in temperature, moisture, soil density and planting depth mean there'll always be a few days to play with either side.

Unless you sprout or chit seeds first  :); that can speed things up by several days.

To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under heaven: a time to be born and time to die: a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted.     Ecclesiastes, 3:1-2

I've just had 100% germination rate for my 1994 courgette seeds!

Now that's impressive! Well done!
